Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Lead Salesforce Release Engineer to drive our Salesforce DevOps initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in Copado and Salesforce administration to optimize our deployment processes. You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines, manage Copado configurations, and ensure seamless integration across Salesforce environments. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding a team of DevOps professionals and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance the performance and reliability of our Salesforce platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CI/CD Pipeline Design and Management: Lead the creation and management of CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce using tools like Copado, Gearset, and Flosum. Ensure efficient, automated deployments.

  • Copado Configuration and Optimization: Configure and optimize Copado for deployment automation and release management. Manage branches, Source Format Pipelines, Sandbox seeding, CPQ Data Deploy, and Data Deploy templates.

  • Platform Management: Oversee Copado platform management and configuration. Apply best practices to maintain system robustness and collaborate with security and development teams to ensure comprehensive security practices.

  • Salesforce Administration: Handle Salesforce administration tasks including user management, permissions, and security. Ensure timely application of Salesforce updates and maintenance of platform security.

  • Sandbox Management: Manage Salesforce sandbox environments for development and testing, including sandbox refreshes, sandbox seeding, metadata masking, and data masking. 

  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce DevOps engineers. Provide technical guidance and support best practices.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Salesforce developers, administrators, and cross-functional teams to streamline development and deployment processes. Facilitate code promotion and translate needs into effective DevOps solutions.

  • Deployment Best Practices: Develop and enforce best practices for release management. Ensure high-quality, timely deployments across sandbox and production environments.

  • Documentation and Training: Create and maintain documentation for deployment processes, Copado configurations, and best practices. Develop training materials and conduct training sessions.

  • Audit and Monitoring: Monitor Salesforce environment changes and provide audit reports. Implement Segregation of Duties (SOD) for deployments.

  • Industry Trends and Updates: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and Salesforce updates to enhance DevOps practices.

  • Automation and Innovation: Automate CI/CD pipelines, manual tasks, pre and post-deployment steps. Refine tools and processes to empower teams, ensuring flexibility and continuity.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience with the Salesforce platform and Devops, including at least 4 years of hands-on experience with Copado, and a proven track record in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Copado, Salesforce DX, Git, Jira, and related tools.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Salesforce platform, release management, and version control. Proficiency in Salesforce metadata, CPQ data deployments, and scripting languages (Apex, JavaScript, Python). Experience with version control systems like GitHub.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring abilities. Excellent problem-solving skills for complex issues.

  • Communication: Outstanding communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear technical explanations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications: Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Developer, Salesforce Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect, Copado Fundamentals I & II.

  • Additional Tools: Experience with Gearset, Flosum, and third-party integrations.

  • Version Control: Proficiency with Git and understanding of branching strategies.

  • Release Management: Track record of managing Salesforce releases, metadata, and data migrations.

  • Salesforce Administration and Development: Experience with Automations, Apex, Lightning Components, and Salesforce APIs.

  • Agile Methodologies: Experience in Agile development environments and ceremonies.

  • Security Best Practices: Understanding of Salesforce security best practices.
