Rubrik is founded with a vision to disrupt the backup and recovery space with a new, flexible platform built for cyber.
2015

Converged Data Management is released, a major innovation in the industry that radically simplified data management and redefined the backup and recovery market. Rubrik raises $51 Million in Series A and B funding.
2016

Rubrik expands to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa following rapid North American growth and increasing customer and partner demands. The company raises $61 million in Series C funding to boost unprecedented sales momentum.
2017

Rubrik is on pace to be one of the fastest growing enterprise infrastructure companies, with a global run rate approaching $100M in just 6 quarters of selling. The team celebrates being named a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Center Backup and Recovery solutions.
2018

John W. Thompson (former Chairman of the Board at Microsoft) joins as a Rubrik board member and John Chambers (former executive chairman and CEO of Cisco Systems) joins as a Board Advisor.
2019

Rubrik expands new Bangalore, India development center to attract top engineers and drive product innovation. The company raises $261 million Series E funding at a $3.3 billion valuation.
2020

Over 1,600 Rubrikans around the world work to secure the world's data. The team is recognized for its leadership and culture, including LinkedIn Top Startup and Forbes Cloud 100.
2021

Rubrik launches the first-ever Ransomware Recovery Warranty offering to underscore its deep commitment to data security for thousands of customers. Microsoft makes an investment in Rubrik and builds the strategic partnership.
2022

The team is thrilled to be certified as a Best Place to Work and named a Top Workplace, with an additional four cultural excellence awards, and is named on the Inc. Best in Business list. Rubrik continues to lead the cybersecurity industry, introducing Rubrik Security Cloud and releasing Cyber Recovery as well as Threat Hunting and Containment.
2023

With more than 5,000 customers, Rubrik surpasses $500 million in subscription ARR. Rubrik joins forces with Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) leader Laminar to realize a common vision and deliver complete cyber resilience to customers. The team is once again recognized as a Top Workplace, with an additional five cultural excellence awards, and certified as a Great Place to Work.

Rubrik got its start in 2014, pioneering Zero Trust Data Security™ to help organizations stand up against anything that threatened their data.

With cyberattacks continuing to increase in both frequency and sophistication, our mission has never been more critical.
